I got the opportunity to travel to Morelia recently. It is the Mexican State of Michoacán capital. You’ll find here the colonial architect which is impressive and the narrow streets of the city have some well-preserved buildings of 17th and 18th century from the characteristic pink stone of the region. There is one building present that imposes the Morelia Cathedral of baroque-style. Plaza de Armas is the elegant and soaring twin towers that over the main square of the city. The places I visited in the city and liked the most are:
- Morelia Cathedral
When I visited this Roman Catholic cathedral, I got impressed after having the look of the architecture. The cathedral is located at an altitude that gives it the height and its architecture is so impressive that you can see its beauty from very distant. The interior of this Cathedral is as impressive as the exterior. There are paintings, stonework and sculptures present that are amazing.
- Morelia Zoo Aquarium
This is a massive zoo and one of the main attractions of the city. This zoo has some spectacular specimens of animals as well as fishes which will increase your curiosity to know more about them. I was amazed to see the diversity here. If you are traveling the city with family do not skip this place. You would also love to get the pictures clicked here with animals and fishes as they are extremely friendly. Some of the other spots that I have covered in Morelia are Fuente Tarascas, Museo Casa Natal de Morelos; this is the birthplace of Jose Maria Morelos, Michoacano Regional of Museum, Dr. Nicolás León Calderón. It displays the architect of the 18th century. Rosas garden, Palace Michoacan State Government, etc. Lastly, do not forget to taste the mouthwatering cuisines of Morelia. It is as wonderful as this place is.
